Our Founders

KidsSoup, Inc. was founded by Jolanda and Sergio Garcia to provide high quality resources and ideas for parents, educators, and care givers at affordable prices.

Jolanda Garcia
Jolanda Garcia’s background is diverse, having worked in education and design for the past 25 years. Her career began as a kindergarten teacher in Switzerland. After ten years of teaching, she ventured to the United States to study design.  Most recently, Jolanda was a lead content designer for educational software company Lightspan Inc. (now part of PLATO Learning) where she designed engaging educational materials for the Internet and the PlayStation®.

Sergio Garcia
Sergio Garcia has more than 23 years of technology and service operations experience in a variety of industries.  Most recently, Sergio was the Vice President of Software Development for PLATO Learning where he oversaw the development of application software platforms for the K–Post Secondary education market and was responsible for the development of the company’s flagship Learning Management System.  From 1994 to 2003, Sergio was the Vice President of Technology at Lightspan where he was responsible for the technology road map that drove the company from startup phase, various acquisitions, an IPO, and a corporate merger.
